COVID-19 (and Quarantine) From a Personal Perspective???
The virus outbreak has caused lots of things to happen. Schools closed (now switched to online school), exams cancelled, on-going quarantine— and until when will this go on? When will it end? Is this just the beginning?
Several businesses have ‘died down’ from their usual sales, people are still not listening to the stay-at-home policy given by the government, it’s kind of a mess if you ask me. Not a chaos or anything, but shouldn’t the government educate us citizens more about COVID-19? Especially those who still think that COVID-19 is ‘stupid’ and still goes out, ignoring all the warnings. It could not only put themselves at risk, but also the health and safety of others as well.
Many events have been cancelled, such as 88rising’s ‘Heads in the Clouds’ Jakarta, Coachella, even IB exams. It’s for our health and safety, yes— so what are we supposed to do now?
Quarantine’s been pretty meh for some people— but thanks to the creative minds of many, there are lots of things we could do. Wanna take an example? Dalgona coffee. Whisked coffee. Either way it’s the same. The drink itself has been a trend lately, and some people upgraded it with their own twists.
Many artists and singers also try to entertain their fans. For example, BTS. 7 Korean boys who broke Justin Bieber’s 6-year-streak as Billboard Music Award’s ‘Top Social Artist’. The global phenomenon as dubbed by many. A few days ago, they announced an online concert through the platform VLIVE— which will be able to be seen by their fans all around the world. Pretty creative.
Not only BTS, but other artists have announced online events (such as online concerts and online fanmeetings), and even some has given away their personal phone number out of boredom.
What else is good is that the amount of pollution has decreased. Yay!! Earth is healing and taking a break from all those pollution, which is nice to know.
As a student, online class is sort of confusing. Although I miss the class vibes and scenarios along with my friends, we still have a lot of fun through video calling. It’s pretty chill.
If you ask me, quarantine’s actually been pretty good. It’s sort of like taking a break from all those physical exhaustions, but still prioritzing assignments. There’s nothing bad about it unless you’re an outgoing and outdoor person, missing all those squad hangouts and sushi dinners.
What about COVID-19? COVID-19 on the negative side has been risking humans, but has been saving the Earth from all those man-made damage in the positive side.
People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment.
There has been 4,557 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia, 380 recovered, and unfortunately 399 deaths.
Please take all the warnings given by the government seriously, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, use the mask if sick, and also don’t panic-shop (because there are also many people out there who also need what we need, so also consider others).
Take care!!
